Una actualizaci\u00f3n de software ofrecida a los propietarios de veh\u00edculos Hyundai y Kia que se vend\u00edan sin inmovilizador electr\u00f3nico redujo los \u00edndices de robo en m\u00e1s de la mitad, seg\u00fan muestra un nuevo estudio del Highway Loss Data Institute.<\/p>\n

Las empresas empezaron a aplicar la actualizaci\u00f3n del software en febrero de 2023 a ra\u00edz de una oleada de demandas por robo que comenz\u00f3 durante la pandemia del COVID-19, cuando los v\u00eddeos instructivos publicados en las redes sociales iniciaron una tendencia viral. Con el nuevo software instalado, los veh\u00edculos solo arrancar\u00e1n si la llave del propietario o un duplicado id\u00e9ntico est\u00e1 en el contacto. Los veh\u00edculos con el software tambi\u00e9n reciben una pegatina en la ventanilla destinada a disuadir a posibles ladrones.<\/p>\n
