Phoenix Area Anti-Theft Event

The Glendale Police Department and Hyundai Motor America will partner to bring a “No Appointment Necessary” Saturday mobile software upgrade event to ten participating Hyundai dealers on Saturday, October 26 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The software upgrade event will provide eligible Hyundai vehicles with anti-theft software developed to protect against the theft mode popularized on social media. The Saturday event is free for all area residents who own or lease a 2011-2021 Hyundai vehicle with a mechanical turn-to-start key ignition. 

Eligible Hyundai drivers are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this free event to reduce the risk of their vehicle being stolen. An August 2024 report published by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety noted, “The companies’ solution is extremely effective. If you own a Hyundai or Kia vehicle without an electronic immobilizer, you should call your local dealer about getting the software upgrade today.” Read the full IIHS Report.
